The links to the examples and source code of most of my applications in this blog has been broken for a very long time and I have had a lot of folks mail / comment me pointing this out. I apologize for not having gotten back to many of you in the past weeks primarly because I was absolutely busy with my official commitments which is taking quite a bit of my bandwidth. I am changing my hosting provider and I will have all the examples and source code back up for download. In the meanwhile, I will also try and send the source of my applications to whoever has requested it in the coming days. I might be a little slow in responding, apologize for that.
Thank you once again for hitting this space, Things will be back, up and running really quick.
Oh yeah, They have now done this in silverlight – The kind of stuff we used to do back in Flash 4 days! (Stop embarassing yourself, MSFT! Do it in Flash – there isn’t any other way to do this. Ever.)
Check out http://www.mojaveexperiment.com/ . This is a campaign for Windows vista and is done Entirely in Flash.
I am extremely impressed by seeing Microsoft’s confidence (or the lack of it) on their own platform when it comes to building their own applications. (or may be they know there isn’t a better way (there can’t be one!) of doing this other than doing this in Flash! That’s more like it!)
The application looks great nevertheless! Good work, Microsoft 🙂
My hosting provider screwed up bigtime $#@#@% – Still working to get the site back up, Apologies for the broken download links. Will be back up soon.
Its been a while since I blogged. Have been really busy with work and had hectic travel assignments through the last couple of months. It was exciting, nevertheless. I had a great time talking at the Delhi leg of BEA dev2dev summit. The event was extremely well organized and it was great to see a lot of enthusiastic developer folks!. The BEA team presented two very impressive sessions on using the BEA platform to develop SOA based applications and the demos were quite good as well. I had the last slot for talking on Flex integration over weblogic. My presentation was initially supposed to be for 30 minutes. But as I started my presentation, the crowd got so enthusiastic about the flex features, I ended up talking for almost 90 minutes and another 15 minutes of Q and A. I ate in to the lunch time, but the crowd was immensely supportive. The organizers (BEA folks) were extremely gracious – They happily let me continue the presentation despite over shooting the allotted time by a big margin.
Met a lot of folks who were interested to know more about flex and how they could leverage the flash platform to develop the presentation tier of their applications. It was fun, had a great time! I will be talking at the Chennai and Bangalore legs of the BEA dev2dev, and also at the Great Indian Developer Summit. If you are planning to be in any of these events, would love to catch up with you guys!
I will be in Delhi / Noida on 5th and 6th May. I will be talking at the BEA dev2dev techdays about integrating Flex applications on Weblogic server and also creating flex applications using the BEA workshop IDE. I am also planning to meet flex developers in the NCR region and also brainstorm about creating a Flex User Group (FUG) for the NCR. It will be great to catch up if you are a flex developer in the NCR region. I am pretty much available the whole of 5th evening and 6th afternoon, it will be great to catch up with flex / flash /AIR folks in and around Delhi. Give me a call at +919980338894 and we could meet up and have a chat 🙂
I, along with Ramesh will be talking at the Great Indian Developer Summit ’08 from May 19-23 at Bangalore. We will be giving a focused session of Flex, AIR and other platform technologies of Adobe. We are also going to have a demo stall running through the 5 days and also plan to have the team to be present there. If you are going to be there, do drop in to the Adobe stall. I am going to be there all the five days and also hoping to meet many of the RIA developers.
The summit also will feature Yakov Fain from Farata systems talking about building enterprise applications using Flex and Mike Grushin will be talking about developing flex applications over Microsoft technology stack. Ram and Rupesh from Adobe will be talking about Adobe ColdFusion and Adobe Java technologies in the Java thread of the summit. This is certainly something you don’t want to miss!
